Health, Safety and Security
Anansi Travels takes the wellbeing of our students very seriously. Although we take all precautions to safeguard our students’ health and safety, like with any excursion, emergencies can happen. In the case of any unexpected health or safety situation, students will be cared for capable, trustworthy and trained adults.
Thorough background checks were conducted before any staff member was cleared for employment, and all employees are CPR certified and First-Aid trained. AT also has a 24/7 on-call doctor in the event of unexpected illness. There is a 6:1 student to staff ratio and students have 24/7 access to AT staff. All staff at AT have completed risk management, safety and security trainings.
AT also maintains a strong, collaborative relationship with the U.S. Embassy in Ghana, as well as Host Government officials to address safety and security.
Participants will receive risk management training, including language, cross cultural, and health and safety sessions, which are designed to raise the student’s situational awareness to help students identify and assess any problems or undesirable situations as they develop. Nonetheless, AT is able to utilize many various resources to quickly assess any and all emergency situations at lodging grounds and/or excursion sites.
