DESTINATION GHANA
Anansi Travels offers immersive study abroad experiences in Ghana through two pathways: Anansi Bridge, a structured summer program for recent high school graduates that combines academic learning with volunteer work and cultural immersion, and Anansi Fellow, a program for rising college sophomores, juniors, seniors, and recent graduates that includes coursework and professional internships tailored to students’ interests.
Through both pathways, participants gain an understanding of African and diasporic history, develop global awareness and leadership skills, and acquire meaningful real‑world experience while exploring Ghana’s vibrant culture and communities.

Anansi Bridge
The Anansi Travels Bridge is a study abroad experience for recent high school graduates preparing to begin college. This structured summer bridge program helps students develop leadership, personal responsibility, and professional skills while gaining early exposure to real-world learning and global perspectives. It’s the perfect way to start college confident, curious, and ready for success.
Anansi Fellow
The Anansi Travels Fellow Program is designed for college sophomores, juniors, seniors, or recent graduates. The program provides real-world experiences that broaden global perspectives, deepen cultural awareness, and build professional skills to make students competitive in an increasingly global world.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Academics
Students can choose between The University of Ghana and Ashesi University, earning three college credits. Anansi Travels helps coordinate credit transfer with your home institution. Both universities offer enriching courses and a chance to engage with diverse academic communities while exploring Ghana.
Community Involvement
Participants in the Anansi Bridge program engage in meaningful volunteer work, partnering with local schools and organizations across Accra and beyond to support education, youth development, and community initiatives. Fellows gain hands-on experience through 10-hour-per-week internships with host companies, applying their coursework to real-world projects while contributing to the team.
Cultural Excursions
From the serene Aburi Botanical Gardens to the interactive Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farms and the historic Cape Coast Castle, students experience Ghana’s culture, history, and natural beauty firsthand. Each excursion is designed to educate, inspire, and provide lasting memories.
Seminars
Participants reflect on their experiences in interactive seminars, discussing insights, challenges, and lessons learned with peers. These sessions help students process their journey and connect their cultural, academic, and professional experiences.
